2017 Chateau de Pizay Beaujolais

Displays great depth of colour for Beaujolais with an opaque dark red black core and a vibrant purple hue. Freshly crushed ripe dark cherry and raspberry scents infused with incense overlay light earth and herb notes. Juicy and quite rich the palate serves up dark and macerated cherry flavours over a back drop of earthy incense characters and spicy herbs. Bright acidity and slightly inky tannins finishing with a dark fruited inky earth, incense laced and spicy herb aftertaste. A medium weighted, richly flavoured Beaujolais that offers good value.
