Semi translucent dark red colour with black tinged edges and a red to brick red hue. Fragrant cherry, strawberry and clove aromas have a stalky edge with smoked meat, forest floor and spicy cedar notes also evident. Light in body with a supple entry, flavours of dried cherries, strawberries and clove meld into spicy cedar and earth finishing meaty and herbal with a touch of bitterness. Good fresh acidity with slightly dryish tannins and a medium length aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
From a single vineyard in Hahndorf, hand-picked, wild-fermented in small batches with some whole bunch inclusion, matured in French oak for 9 months. A lovely wine, profiting from the cool vintage. Has elegance, finesse and length. Drink 2032.
