Matured in new and older French oak. Excellent depth of colour displaying a black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of liquorice, dark cherries and subtle blueberries combine followed by lightly toasted vanillin cedar, dried meats and blackpepper. Medium bodied with a youthful juiciness to the textural feel the palate dishes up savoury flavours of ripe dark cherries, blueberries and liquorice over subtlety toasted vanillin cedar, some meatiness and spicy pepper. Slightly dryish finish with velvet like tannins. Good richness with a medium to long aftertaste of spicy ripe dark cherries, liquorice, vanillin cedar, a subtle meatiness and pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Matured in new and used French oak - not much at this price, and no more needed. It has bright, fresh flavours of plum, black cherry and blackberry, with a liberal sprinkle of black pepper and spice, tannins a feature of a wine worth twice the price. Drink by 2036.
