Located in the prime sub region of Wilyabrup in Margaret River, Twinwoods was established in 2005 by Aldo Bratovic and Gavin Jones and is regarded as one of the up and coming stars of the region.
Aged in French oak, 40% of which was new, for 16 months. Totally opaque black as night core with a dark red black hue. Aromas of blackcurrant, black olive and mulberry are complimented by cigar box, dusty earth and spicy bay leaf notes. Medium to full bodied the palate is blessed with rich blackcurrant fruit that marries into subtle liquorice, black olive, cigar box and spicy dried herb elements. A firm, sturdy tannin structure ably supports the fruit. Excellent depth with a long robust conclusion.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
Three parcels harvested on different days: Old Lane, Old Spur and Young. The old vines provide the structure, the young fresher/fruitier cabernet blackcurrant flavours. It all comes together very well indeed. Drink by 2036.
