A blend of 55% Grenache, 28% Shiraz and 17% Mataro matured for 20 months in older French hogsheads. Impenetrable black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Heady black plum, black cherry and liquorice aromas waft from the glass with a back drop of subtlety scorched earth, dried herbs and spice. Rich and weighty the palate is flooded with luscious black cherry, black plum and liquorice flavours which overlay some black raspberries, lightly scorched earth and spicy dried herbs. Very plush and opulent in its textural feel with velvety tannins. Outstanding power and concentration with a long ripe black cherry, liquorice, black plum, black raspberry, earthy dried herb and spicy pepper aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 15%

Other Reviews….
55% grenache, 28% shiraz, 17% mataro, destemmed, open-fermented, matured for 20 months in large foudres before blending. This is wholly traditional, and also very good. Its complexity and richness have energy, focus and freshness, an ever-changing cast of flavours crossing the palate on their way to the finish. the alcohol in no way imposes itself on you. Drink by 2036.
