2016 Thorn-Clarke Shotfire Quartage

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot. Totally opaque midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Drifting from the glass are scents of ripe blackcurrant and a whiff of liquorice followed by some bay leaf, vanillin cedar and spice. Rich and very concentrated with a dense chewy tannin structure backing mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackcurrants, touches of liquorice over earthy vanillin cedar, dried herbs and spice. Dry inky finish with firmish tannins. Chewy ripe blackcurrant, subtle liquorice, earthy vanillin cedar and spicy herb aftertaste.
