2016 Tenuta Montanello Crocetta Barbera d'Alba

Aged for 6 months in oak barrels. Totally opaque inky black dark red core with a bright purple red hue. Inky plum and ripe dark cherry aromas are followed by light earth, hints of liquorice, fresh herbs and spice. Medium weight and well fruited, fresh acidity gives the dark raspberry, cherry and plum flavours a vibrant, elegant feel. Elements of inky earth, dried herbs and spice are also apparent. Finishes dry and crunchy with slightly gravelly tannins. Aftertaste of dark raspberry, plum, liquorice, inky earth, subtle dried herbs and spice.
