2016 Serafino Shiraz

Impenetrable black as night core with a deep dark red black hue. Uplifted liquorice and dark plum aromas intermingle with vanillin cedar, confectionary and hints of spicy dark chocolate. Bold and rich with a plump textural feel, generous liquorice, dark plum and blackberry flavours move over a background of toasty vanillin oak, light earth and spice. Excellent length with velvety yet sturdy tannins finishing with a long spicy dark fruited aftertaste.

Estate-grown, made from the best rows of the best blocks, ripened quickly and early by the hot, dry vintage. Given this background it is an impressive wine, with blackberry, Cherry Ripe, chocolate and licorice flavours, the shape of the wine in the mouth the most admirable. Drink by 2029.
