2016 Rockbare Tideway Shiraz

This wine has been one of our best sellers over the years, the style having evolved over time from extravagantly rich blockbuster’s of earlier vintages to a more modern take today. Amped up with rich McLaren Vale fruit but backed by a more muscular structure, the 2016 is an absolute steal at this price and has plenty of cellaring potential ahead of it. Fruit was sourced from the Clarendon and Blewitt Springs sub districts of McLaren Vale with maturation taking place in French oak, 35% new, for a period of 18 months.

Combines McLaren Vale's richness and opulence with a muscular structure.

Impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Potent ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas mix with black cherry, vanillin oak, fennel and peppered earth notes. Full in body with a rich muscular feel, lavish blackberry, black cherry and liquorice flavours engulf the mouth overlaying a vanillin cedar, fennel and spicy pepper back drop. Dense, opulent texture with ripe chewy tannins backing the lavish black fruits. Excellent power, finishing long, rich and firmly structured.
