Matured in French oak for approximately 18 months. Semi translucent dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Perfumed aromas of violets, dark cherries, ripe strawberry and anise flow through the nostrils with forest floor, subtle meaty notes, fresh herbs and spicy cedar also evident. Beautifully defined, supple and fresh, the palate delivers a power wave of spicy ripe dark cherry, strawberry, subtle anise, dried meat, forest floor and fresh herb flavours. Super fine tannins are backed by bright structured acidity leading into a long spicy aftertaste full of red and dark fruits.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.3%

Other Reviews….
Hand-picked, 80% whole berries, 5 days cold soak, wild yeast open-fermented, 17 days on skins, matured in French oak (25% new) for 7 months, 100 dozen made. Excellent colour and clarity; the bouquet is very expressive, perfectly ripened pinot noir notes to the fore, warm spices in the background. A tantalisingly seductive palate, with the flavours washing across and along the mouth, leaving an imprint that takes a seeming eternity to diminish. Drink by 2031.
