2016 Petaluma Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay

This wine was barrel fermented in 40% new French oak barriques, hogsheads and 60% older French oak barrels with partial malolactic fermentation. Brilliant pale straw colour with a faint tinge of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Fragrant white peach, nectarine and citrus aromas are gently laced with dried honey characters followed by subtle nougat and spice notes. Medium bodied with a generous yet elegant mouthfeel and vibrant finish the palate features white peach and nectarine flavours tied to dried honey and cashew with a spicy finish. Aftertaste of spicy white peaches, nectarines, citrusy dried honey and cashew.
