On the Wing is the entry level wine from Tim McNeil that takes its name from Tim's hey days in the late 1980’s as a young footballer sporting a blonde mullet, playing on the wing for the mighty Norwood Redlegs. Matured for 24 months in 10% new French oak and older hogsheads, this young rookie stars, delivering the full bodied flavour and flamboyance of an inspirational wingman.

Fleshy and plush with rich juicy black fruits abound.

Great colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark purple black hue. Lifted ripe black cherry and liquorice aromas infused with blackpepper are trailed by vanillin cedar, a faint whiff of black olive and spice. Full in body with an opulent mouthfeel the palate is saturated with rich blackberry, liquorice and black cherry flavours which sit over a toasty vanillin cedar and blackpepper finish. Traces of dark chocolate are also evident. Sturdy yet plush tannins provide the framework. Excellent power and weight with a long spicy ripe blackberry, liquorice, black cherry, toasty vanillin cedar, subtle earth and blackpepper aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
