2016 Oliver's Taranga Vineyards HJ Shiraz

First produced in the year 2000, Oliver’s HJ Shiraz is sourced from the very best parcels of fruit on the Old Block vineyard planted in 1948 by HJ Oliver. Maturation took place in French oak (30% new) for a period of 20 months.

An incredibly rich and luxuriously textured McLaren Vale Shiraz that’s dripping with decadence.

Impenetrable midnight black core with a deep dark red black hue. Hedonistic dark chocolate, liquorice and blackberry aromas waft from the glass trailed by vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice notes. Full bodied, voluptuously textured and extravagantly rich, the mouth is engulfed with waves of ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruit that cascade across the palate. Nuances of dark chocolate, spicy vanillin oak and subtle earthy mocha also chime in. The tremendous power and volume of fruit is supported by velvet smooth yet structural tannins. Concludes incredibly long and plush.
