2016 Mt Lofty Ranges Vineyard Shiraz

Matured in French oak of which 30% was new. Totally opaque dark purple black core with a bright dark purple hue. Subtle liquorice and dark berry aromas meld into smoky cedar and dried meat scents with earthy black olive and pepper end notes. Medium bodied the palate has an elegant, tightly knit feel with liquorice, blackberry and blueberry flavours followed by smoky cedar, subtle inky earth characters and pepper. Dryish, finely grained tannins a have a stern feel to them. Bright acidity with an aftertaste of liquorice, blueberry, lightly smoked cedar, some inky earth and pepper.
