2016 Ministry of Clouds Riesling

Half the fruit for this Riesling is sourced from the high altitude rocky soils in the Eastern Hills of Penwortham, being quite austere in style this component provides the wine with its structure. The other half comes from a 50 plus year old Watervale vineyard which contributes some flesh and more generous fruit.

Brilliant greenish tinged water like colour with a watery hue. Freshly squeezed lemon and lime aromas infused with talc dominate the nose followed by green apple and mineral notes. The palate shows great precision as well as concentration delivering zesty flavours of lemon, lime and crunchy green apple over some talc and chalky mineral characters. Racy acid finish with a long lemon, lime, crunchy green apple and chalky mineral aftertaste.
