Matured in French oak for 12 months. Semi translucent bright dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark crimson hue. The nose shows good perfumed lift with scents of violets intermingling with ripe dark cherries and strawberries over some anise and spicy toasty cedar. Light to medium weight with good richness, low acidity and a supple mouthfeel, the palate is generously flavoured with ripe dark cherry and strawberry flavours which seamlessly marry into nuances of lightly toasted cedar, traces of game, subtle earth and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Good power with a long aftertaste of spicy dark cherry, ripe strawberry, lightly earthed cedar and a subtle meatiness. A very savoury, easy drinking Pinot.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
