Scotchman’s Hill winemaker Robin Brocket makes the McGlashan Wallington Estate wines which were established by Russell and Jan McGlashan in 1995. Matured in French oak for 12 months. Bright straw colour with a watery hue. Intensely scented the nose offers up aromatics of ripe peaches and apricots laced with honeycomb followed by lemon butter, nougat and spicy toasted oak end notes. Rich and texturally very creamy this is a fat, buttery style of Chardonnay that’s rarely seen these days. Mouthfilling flavours of ripe peaches, apricot and honeycomb flood the palate underscored by nuances of butterscotch, toasty oak and spicy nougat. Very viscous mouthfeel, finishing dry with relatively soft acidity by today’s standards. Long aftertaste of ripe peaches, apricots, honeycomb, butterscotch, spicy cashew and toast.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 13.5%
