2016 M.Chapoutier Belleruche Cotes du Rhone Blanc

A blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Clairette and Bourboulenc grapes, aged for 5 months on lees. Brilliant pale straw to straw colour with a watery hue. The nose exhibits aromas of ripe pears, subtle citrus and dried honey over some light quince and spice. Light to medium bodied with a nicely textured mouthfeel, flavours of stone fruits and ripe citrus are overlaid by dried honey characters with some subtle slate and spicy quince nuances ensuing. Finishes dry with good freshness and an aftertaste of spicy ripe stone fruits, citrus, dried honey, slate and a lick of quince.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
