Semi translucent cherry red colour with a light red to brick red hue. Fragrant scents of violets, red cherries, strawberries and sour cherries are overlaid by fresh herbs, a touch of meatiness and spicy cedar. Very supple and round in the mouth the palate has flavours of spicy red cherries along with some strawberries and sour cherries infused with dried herbs over a back drop of meaty cedar and more spice. Dryish finish with silky smooth tannins. Aftertaste of spicy red and sour cherries, some meatiness and spicy earthy cedar.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 13.4%

Other Reviews….
Estate-grown MV6 planted '97, eight picking days 4-25 Mar, the majority destemmed, open-fermented with cultured yeast, 15% fermented with 30% whole bunches to allow some carbonic maceration, matured in new and used French oak, bottled unfiltered. This complex vinification has resulted in a very complex pinot, with red and purple fruits, abundant spices and savoury/earthy fine-grained tannins. This in turn leads to good length and texture. Drink by 2023.
