2016 Kilikanoon Killerman's Run Shiraz

Established in 1997, Kilikanoon has established a reputation for producing world class, iconic Shiraz from vineyards located in the Barossa & Clare Valley. Winemaker Kevin Mitchell also produces more budget priced offerings, producing wines that offer ‘Killer Value’ under the Killerman’s Run label, with fruit now being sourced from entirely low yielding Clare Valley vineyards.

Layered with rich juicy fruit this Shiraz delivers well beyond expectations.

Outstanding depth of colour displaying an inky black core with a deep dark purple black hue. Juicy blackberry, dark plum and liquorice scents rise from the glass underscored by vanillin cedar, subtle notions of crushed rock and blackpepper. Showing impressive body weight, concentration and richness the plushly textured palate is filled with succulent dark plum, liquorice and juicy blackberry flavours which sit over a back drop of vanillin oak, subtle fennel and spicy pepper. Velvety tannins have a sturdy undertone to them. Lengthy conclusion of spicy dark plum, blackberries, liquorice, vanillin cedar and peppered fennel.
