2016 Kalleske Clarry's GSM

Certified organic Clarry's is a blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro with the Grenache component coming from vines planted in 1940s and 1960s. In order to preserve the fresh fruit flavours ageing takes place only in very old oak hogsheads for a period of 4 months.

Excellent depth displaying an opaque black purple core with a bright dark purple hue. Fragrantly scented aromas of fresh dark raspberries, blood plums and liquorice dominate over hints of earthy vanillin oak and spice. The medium bodied, full flavoured palate sports plump, juicy dark raspberry, plum and liquorice flavours. Terrific fruit purity. Faint vanillin oak, subtle inky earth and spice follow on. Slightly dryish but otherwise finely grained tannins carry the succulent fruit well. Excellent length with a long fruit driven aftertaste of spicy dark raspberries, plum, liquorice and subtle earthy vanillin oak. A delicious GSM blend designed for drinking over the 3-4 years.
