The Hahn family were amongst the original pioneers to the Barossa Valley, and began growing grapes in 1845. In 1997 The Hahn’s formed a partnership with renowned winemaker Rolf Binder to produce the JJ Hahn range of wines and showcase their legacy of grape growing from old vine Barossa vineyards held in the family for generations.

A rich, seductive old school Barossa Shiraz that’s big on flavour.

Fruit is sourced from mature dry grown vines on the North facing slopes of the Western Ridge vineyard with aging taking place in a mixture of French and American oak barrels. Magnificent pitch black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Decadent scents of ripe dark plum, blackberry and chocolate bullets waft out of the glass followed by vanillin oak, mocha and spice. Super plush, velvety and long the moreish palate is decorated with rich blackberry, dark plum and liquorice flavours which overlay a back drop of dark chocolate, vanillin oak, subtle earth and spice. Rich and full but not overbearing. Very slick, silky smooth tannins concluding with a long opulent dark plum, liquorice, blackberry, spicy vanillin oak and dark chocolate aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
