2016 Hunter's Pinot Gris

A small portion of this wine is fermented in older French oak to provide additional richness and texture. Bright straw colour with a watery hue. Elevated aromas of ripe pears infused with rose water are overlaid by honeycomb with hints of citrusy nougat and spice ensuing. Rich and lusciously textured yet fresh the palate is filled with flavours of ripe pears, infusions of rose water, lychee and light honeycomb over a back drop of ripe spicy citrus. Off dry finish with good refreshing acidity. Excellent length with a long ripe pear, lychee, honeycomb, citrus and spice aftertaste. Takes its inspiration from Alsace.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
