2016 Hill Smith Estate Eden Valley Chardonnay

This Chardonnay was wild fermented and matured in French oak barriques for 10 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Delicate nectarine and citrus aromas intermix with hints of dried honey, faint lemon butter, light cashew and spice. Fresh, elegant and textured the light to medium bodied palate has flavours of melon and pears which are tied to infusions of dried honey followed by notions of cashew, light smoky gun flint and spice. Clean dry finish. Aftertaste of pears, melon, dried honey, light cashew, gun flint infusions and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years.
