Discovery Road is Rob Gibson’s new range wines that showcase the exotic flavours of Southern Mediterranean grape varieties with a new world touch.

Opaque black dark red colour with a purple dark red hue. Fragrant aromatics of ripe dark cherries, liquorice and fresh herbs, in particular lavender, overlay some inky earth and spice notes. Juicy medium bodied flavours of ripe dark cherries, liquorice and inky earth laced with fresh herbs fill the mouth. Slightly dryish finish with ripe chewy tannins and bright youthful acidity providing the framework. Excellent depth with a long savoury finish of spicy dark cherries, liquorice, inky earth characters and infusions of fresh herbs.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
The Discovery Road range is something of a new … discovery for me. It’s a range of wines from Gibson in the Barossa with a focus on Italian and Spanish grape varieties. First impression, prior to tasting, is that the wines are well packaged and attractively priced. The proof is always of course in the pudding.
This is a juicy, clean, generous red wine, both fresh and impactful. I’d jump at this without hesitation. Assorted ripe berry flavours, gun smoke and peppercorn, a touch of bay. There’s a sturdiness to the tannin, a freshness to the acidity, a good sense of balance and an interesting array of flavours. Nice one. Drink 2018-2023.
