2016 Giant Steps Primavera Vineyard Pinot Noir

100% whole bunch with maturation taking place in new (30%) and older French oak barriques for 11 months. Semi translucent bright dark red colour with a vibrant crimson red hue. Sniffing provides a very perfumed aromatic profile of violets, red cherries, dark cherries and strawberries which are overlaid by a light dried clove character with a subtle meatiness, faintly smoked cedar and spice ensuing. Light and elegantly built yet possessing superb power, the very savoury palate dishes up delicious flavours of spice, red and dark cherries, strawberries, subtle dried clove infusions, smoky cedar and some spiced meats on the lengthy finish. Seamlessly integrated, very fine grained tannins give the palate a sense of suppleness. Concludes long with an aftertaste of spicy dark cherries, ripe strawberries, smoky cedar, light dried clove and spicy dried meats.
