This, only the second release under the Yarra Valley range, is a superbly crafted Pinot sourced from Giant Steps Estate vineyards - Tarraford, Applejack, Lusatia Park, Primavera and Sexton. It also comes repackaged with a cleaner look to distinguish it from the single vineyard wines. Fermented with 35% whole bunch the wine was matured for 11 months in a mixture of new (25%) and older French oak.

A powerful, supplely textured and character filled Yarra Valley Pinot that slips down the throat with ridiculous ease.

Semi translucent dark red colour with a tinge of black around the edges and a crimson red hue. Scented violet top notes overlay dark cherry and strawberry aromas which are laced with a hint of anise. Some subtle spicy cedar notes following on. Very savoury and blessed with superb richness, delicious flavours of ripe cherries and strawberries fill the mouth over subtle infusions of anise, dried meats and spicy cedar. Outstanding length and power despite the wines light body weight. Supple mid palate with a slightly dryish finish and a very refined, perfectly integrated tannin structure. Concludes long and persistent with spicy ripe dark cherries, strawberries, faint anise and delicate meaty cedar. Gorgeous drinking now but will also improve with 5-6 years cellaring.
Alc 13.5%
