A 100% Cabernet Franc made from vines 25-40 years old. Deep dark red black colour with a bright red hue. Fragrant aromatics of red currants and ripe cherries laced with nuances of tobacco leaf, herbs and light earth are trailed by a faint whiff of spicy capsicum. Elegant bright red currant flavours lead the way on the light to medium weight palate with savoury red cherry, tobacco, fresh herb, light earth and spice elements ensuing. Finishes dry with good freshness and finely grained tannins. Excellent length with a savoury red fruited tobacco, bay leaf, earth and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil. 38 year old vines. Raised in stainless steel. Vivid bright purple colour. Cherry, raspberry, subtle leaf and herb perfume, clay, pencils, but almost a liquorice richness. It’s light to medium-bodied, impressive depth of flavour, tight graphite tannin, crisp cranberry acidity, satisfying length. Wonderful energy and high drinking appeal. I was tasting, but then decided to drink a glass of this. Drink 2018-2023+
