2016 Escarpment Chardonnay

Barrel fermented and aged on lees for 16 months. Brilliant pale straw to straw colour with a distinctive tinge of green around the edges and a watery hue. Elevated ripe peach and nectarine fruits lead the way trailed by scents of dried honey, nougat, cashew and light spice. Mouthfilling fleshy white peach and nectarine flavours have good underlying freshness and an elegant feel. Light dried honey, infusions of gun flint, subtle citrusy nougat characters and spice the support act. There’s a subtle creaminess to the mid palate finishing with plenty of vibrancy on the medium to long aftertaste.
