Epsilon is the project of Aaron and Julie Southern (Julie is a member of the Kalleske clan) who own vineyards in the Northern part of Barossa. As the familiar story goes with so many growers they sold off their fruit to larger wineries until a chance meeting with the Massena boys Dan Standish and Jaysen Collins. Under their guidance they convinced them to start up their own brand in 2004 and built a winery on the property. Sourced from a single vineyard the wine sees approximately 12 months in older French & American oak with only the best batches making the final blend.

A rich, supple and deliciously savoury Barossa Shiraz.

Magnificent inky black core that’s totally impenetrable with a very deep dark purple black hue. Intense liquorice, ripe black cherry and dark plum aromas emanate from the glass followed by infusions of smoky oak, fennel and spicy pepper. Fabulously rich and concentrated, luscious black fruits saturate the palate with vibrant acidity the counter punch. Opulently textured flavours of ripe black cherries, liquorice and dark plums are underpinned by nuances of smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and blackpepper. Bright finish with velvet smooth tannins. Long sumptuous aftertaste of ripe black cherries, liquorice, dark plums, smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and blackpepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.8%

Other Reviews....
This is astounding value from a boutique producer. The label is fairly new but the owners are fifth-generation Barossa grapegrowers. Plummy fruit-driven aromas, coupled with subtle spices and smoky oak, the palate deep, rich and full-bodied, with drive and power. Drink now to 12+ years.
