Cellar: 5 - 6 Years (2023-2024)
ABV: 13.5%

Elgee Park is situated amidst the protected gentle hills of Merricks North and is considered one of the Peninsula’s warmer sites. Established in 1972 by Baillieu Myer and family, the 4.5 hectare vineyard was the first in a new era of Mornington Peninsula vineyards. Matured for 10 months in French oak of which 30% was new. Semi translucent dark red colour with a light red hue. Intense aromatics of dark cherries and strawberries laced with anise and hint of violets are followed by some gamey notes, lightly toasted cedar and spice. Delicious ripe dark cherry and strawberry flavours interplay with anise, lightly toasted cedar, forest floor and spice. Supple mouthfeel with very finely grained, well integrated tannins. Delivers excellent power with a long spicy dark cherry, strawberry, anise, subtlety smoked cedar, dried meat and forest floor aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
A gleaming hue but quite pale and transparent. A lot of subtlety with just-ripe red cherries, cranberries, florals, warm earth and spices. There's a prettiness, too; it's deceptive, because it's medium-bodied with detail and precision, soft acidity and fine tannins giving it drink-now status. Drink by 2023.
