2016 Domaine Tempier Bandol Rouge

Domaine Tempier is Bandol’s most well known estate and has been run by the Peyraud family since 1936. Blended from a number of different vineyards this wine is made predominately from Mourvedre with some Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan also included.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. Perfumed violet notes lead into aromas of dark cherries, plum and subtle red liquorice followed by earthy vanillin cedar and spicy fresh herb infusions. Vibrant, richly flavoured dark cherry, liquorice and plum fruits are underpinned by fresh acidity with subtle scorched earth, traces of leather and spicy herbs also present. Peppery finish with faintly chalky tannins providing ample structure. Excellent depth and power with a long savoury spicy red to dark fruited aftertaste.
