Totally opaque dark red black core with a deep dark red hue. On the nose intense dark to black raspberry aromas intermix with black cherry, some liquorice, provincial herbs, dried meats, earthy incense and spicy pepper notes. Rich, brawny, energetic and immensely powerful, the mouth is filled with opulent black raspberry, liquorice and ripe black cherry flavours which are supported by a rigid framework of ripe grippy tannins which applies some traction to the dry finish. Elements of inky scorched earth, infusions of incense, provincial herbs and crushed rock take form on the back palate. Outstanding length with resounding freshness and a burst of blackpepper chiming in on the exceptionally long aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 15%

Other Reviews….
The most impressive Rasteau to have ever passed these lips, the 2016 Rasteau Cuvee Fleur de Confiance is a full-bodied, richly muscular wine that takes all the warmth and power of the appellation and somehow turns it elegant. Black cherries, licorice and cocoa all come together seamlessly into a cascade of spice, cola and fruit, then ends with great length, soft tannins and finely ground stone. The secret to this 4,000-bottle cuvée is old-vine Grenache grown on blue clay.

Joe Czerwinski – Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate

The 2016 Rasteau Cuvée Fleur De Confiance is a brilliant blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and the rest Mourvèdre that’s brought up all in foudre. This spice, garrigue, new saddle leather, and licorice-scented beauty boasts tremendous red and black fruits, a rocking sense of minerality, full body, and a seamless, elegant yet powerful mouthfeel. It will keep for 10-15 years. Drink 2018-2033.
