Very deep dark red black colour with a bright dark red hue. Pronounced black raspberry and liquorice aromas combine over some black cherry, scorched earth, incense and pepper notes. Rich black raspberry and liquorice flavours are supported by ripe chewy tannins and fresh acidity with undertones of scorched earth, subtle incense infusions and spicy pepper. Good depth with a long spicy dark to black raspberry, liquorice, earthy incense and blackpepper aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years.

Other Reviews….
I loved the 2016 Lirac from Mont Redon. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and the rest Mourvèdre, it has a voluminous, medium to full-bodied, silky, elegant style as well as terrific notes of cassis, black raspberries, strawberries, and spice. It’s already impossible to resist but will keep for 5-6 years, if not longer. It’s one of the gems from Lirac in 2016. Drink 2018-2024.
