2016 Cavallotto Vigna Scot Dolcetto d'Alba

Sourced from vines approximately 40 years old this Dolcetto d’Alba was aged in large Slavonian oak for 6 months and then spent a further 6 months in cement tanks. Deep dark red black tinged core with a bright purple red hue. Aromas of spicy ripe cherries and raspberries intermix with hints of dried herbs and subtle earth. Light in body the palate flavours are quite juicy with ripe dark cherries and raspberries prevalent over some inky earth and spicy dried herbs. Finishes dry, bright and savoury with mildly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of spicy ripe cherries, raspberries, earth and dried herbs.
