2016 Ashton Hills Estate Pinot Noir

Matured in a combination of new and seasoned French oak. Semi translucent dark red colour with a light brick red hue. Perfumed aromas of violets, dark cherries and strawberries are trailed by a faint hint of anise, stalky cedar and spicy dried herbs. Rich and powerful the palate is flooded with ripe dark cherry and strawberry flavours which meld into traces of anise, lightly toasted cedar, subtle  dried herb infusions and spice. Supple mouthfeel with perhaps a faint trace of heat on the finish. Velvet smooth tannins with a long spicy ripe dark cherry, strawberry, subtle anise, dried herbs and spicy cedar aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
