Arboleda represents the premium tier from the Eduardo Chadwick family of Caliterra wines. Carmenere is capable of producing bold, flavoursome yet balanced and complex wines. Those from the Caliterra stable are stylistically similar, each sharing a complexing dried leaf / tobacco characteristic that overlays the spicy, ripe fruit notes. It's an unmistakable and unique combination that's prompted critics internationally to conclude of Chilean Carmenère: 'When they're good, there's really nothing else quite like it'.

Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, 25% of which were new. Midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Elevated aromas of red to blackcurrants combine with the varietals classic tobacco leaf characteristic followed by dusty vanillin cedar, dried herbs, a faint whiff of red bell pepper and spice. Medium bodied, elegant and supple in its feel the palate is filled with rich red to black currant fruit which meld into elements of tobacco, spicy vanillin cedar and dried herbs. Finely tuned with seamlessly integrated tannins. Excellent concentration and length finishing with a long savoury aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
This is a very distinctive carmenere with a lot of Mediterranean herbs, roasted red bell peppers and black tea. Very bright and rather mineral in spite of the density. Restrained tannins for this variety. Drink or hold.

Plush, rounded and soft with a complex toasty nose. The palate is most elegant with nice layers of fruit, herbs, tobacco spice and pencil shavings, followed by a long, elegant finish. Balanced to a tee and overall a really good juicy and textured example of this cultivar.
