2016 Alkoomi Chardonnay

Fermented in a mix new, one and two year old French oak and matured on lees for 8 months.Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. The nose tosses up aromatics of grapefruit, nectarine and citrus over some funky struck match stick characters and flinty mineral. Light to medium weight with an elegant, fresh mouthfeel the palate has flavours of grapefruit and nectarine infused with gun flint, citrus and mineral. Dry finish with a crisp edge to the acidity. Aftertaste of grapefruit, nectarine, gun flint and citrusy mineral elements.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
