Excellent inky black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Fragrant ripe blackcurrant aromas intermingle with hints of plum, traces of liquorice, cedary tobacco characters and spicy bay leaf. Medium to full bodied the mouth is decorated with rich blackcurrant, dark plum and liquorice flavours with a back drop of toasty cedar, spicy tobacco and bay leaf. Slightly dryish finish with very polished, finely grained tannins. Aftertaste of spicy blackcurrant, subtle plum, toasty cedar, earthy tobacco and traces of bay leaf.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews…
Impeccably structured and balanced. Both fruit and oak make eager contributions but neither at the expense of the other. Black cherry into plum; wood smoke into bay; a sweeter redcurrant note. A sheet of firm tannin is the final signal that this isn't your average $21 wine. Drink by 2030.
