Matured in French oak barrels for 18 months. Black as night core with a deep dark red black hue. Elevated red to black currant and mulberry aromas converse with cedary tobacco characters, subtle dried herbs, light earth and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate dishes up a rich flavour profile of ripe red to black currants, mulberries and cedary tobacco characters which are supported by a sturdy tannin framework. Adding complexity to the picture are nuances of dried herbs, a touch of earth and spice. Finishes dry and slightly firm with a long red to black currant, mulberry, cedary tobacco character and spicy dried herb aftertaste. A classic Yarra Valley Cabernet.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
Deep red/purple colour, with a similarly profound bouquet of ironstone mineral notes and black berry fruits. Hints of creosote. Serious cabernet here, showing excellent ripeness. The palate is full-bodied, high-extract and dense, with a little chewiness in the tannins. A big cabernet for this region, and outstanding value. It will richly reward patient cellaring.
