Semi translucent dark red colour with a light red hue. Uplifted spicy ripe cherry, strawberry and anise scents subtlety overlaid by violet notes are followed by gamey forest floor and spicy cedar. Elegant palate with dark cherry and ripe strawberry flavours presiding over a back drop of earthy forest floor characters and light spicy cedar. Finishes with good freshness, finely grained tannins and a medium length aftertaste.

This and La Cosette have virtually identical vinification the only difference an extra 3 days on skins and 7% new oak and this is 100% MV6 clone. Whether there was some difference in row selection or picking dates we don't know, other than the identical alcohol. Whatever, this is markedly more complex, with greater fruit depth and more savoury spice notes on the very long palate. Drink by 2027.
