$239.88 Dozen
Cellar: Drink now - 3 Years (2017-2020)
ABV: 12.5%
Closure: Stelvin

Following on from their success with Viognier, the Yalumba winemaking team have expanded their repertoire to Roussane, Northern Rhone’s other great white varietal. The wine was fermented and matured for 10 months in older French oak barriques with regular lees stirring to enhance the wines weight and textural attributes.

Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Fragrant aromas of fresh peaches and apricots intermingle with honeysuckle and hints of spice. Nicely textured with a round creamy like feel yet still light and fresh across the palate it features peach and ripe apricot flavours intermixed with honeysuckle over spicy vanillin biscuit nuances. Dry finish with an aftertaste of spiced apricots, peaches and honeysuckle.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc 12.5%

Other Reviews….
Wild-fermented in used French barriques, left on lees for 10 months. Full-bodied and textural, but not mawkish thanks to lively acidity keeping it neatly pitched. Honeysuckle, dried herbs, white pepper and woodsy spices mingle with stone fruit, honeydew melon and creamed-honey yet a roussanne definitely in the savoury spectrum. Drink by 2021.
