2015 Woodlands Chardonnay

Woodlands believe 2015 to be their greatest Chardonnay vintage yet. This Chardonnay is also the first wine they have released produced with their new Delta Oscillys Destemmer. This destemmer receives the fruit from the vibrating hooper, and removes the stems by a swinging motion rather than using a traditional beating shaft and rotating cage. This process is much more gentle on the fruit, and has the added advantage that shot berries, dry grapes and unripe grapes remain on the stems (and out of the wine).

An outstanding value for Margaret River Chardonnay, the Woodlands has intensity of flavour matched to an elegant creamy textural feel.

Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinge edges and a watery hue. On the nose white peach aromas are intertwined with some citrusy dried honey notes followed by faint lemon butter, light cashew and spice. The palate sports a light elegant creaminess about the mouthfeel that builds incrementally towards the finish around flavours of ripe white peaches infused with citrusy dried honey and nougat over a background of cashew and spice. Dry finish with well judged acidity providing the perfect balancing act. Long aftertaste of dried honey, citrusy nougat, cashew and spice. Already very drinkable now this will cellar comfortably for a further 4-5 years.
