Very deep dark red black tinged colour with a bright dark red hue. The nose displays excellent intensity with dark cherry and plum aromas mixed in with a hint of sour cherries for added interest. Stemmy notes, meaty characters and spice follow on. Very supple and friendly the finish is a shade softer than Downie’s Yarra Valley rendition with the palate featuring flavours of dark and red cherries over some meaty game like characters, faint clove and spicy cedar. Very good length with finely grained tannins. Long aftertaste of spicy dark and red cherries, some meatiness and faintly toasted cedar. Very savoury and elegant.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc 13%
