Fruit for this fuller styled Chardonnay was sourced from the Mount Barker region with maturation taking place in a mixture of new and aged French oak barrels. After primary fermentation, all the wine underwent a malolactic fermentation for extra richness and there was regular lees stirring over the next 6 months for further complexity and enhanced mouthfeel.

Retasted...
Bright straw colour with a tinge of green around the edges and a watery hue. Lifted aromas of ripe white peaches laced with honeycomb are followed by hints of fresh apricot, citrusy nougat and light butterscotch. Full bodied the palate has a rich flavour profile of ripe peaches, honeycomb and light butterscotch but still finishes fresh with some citrusy nougat and spice. The creamy texture counterpointed by some well balanced acidity. Good length with a medium to long aftertaste of ripe peaches, honeycomb, light spicy butterscotch and citrusy nougat. Will fill out further with some bottle age.
Cellar 3-4 years.
