2015 Tout Pres By Farr Pinot Noir

Geelong, Victoria, AUSTRALIA
$110.00 Bottle
  • Cellar 6 - 8 years (2024-2026)
  • ABV 13.5%
  • Closure: Cork

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a crimson red hue. The nose shows more prominent whole bunch characters than the RP Cote Vineyard Pinot with powerful scents of spicy red to dark cherries and strawberries laced with dried clove and infusions of fresh herbs underscored by smoky cedar and meaty characters. The palate has a touch more weight than the RP Pinot with rich red and dark cherry flavours as well as strawberries laced with dried clove and other herbs over smoky cedar characters, dried meats and spice. Excellent power with the acidity a shade brighter than the RP Pinot on the finish. Perfectly integrated finely grained tannins with a very long and savoury aftertaste of red and dark cherries, clove, smoky cedar, meats, dried herbs and spice.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews....
From a 1ha vineyard in an amphitheatre with three different soil types, six clones mutated into a single Tout Pres clone planted at 7300 vines per ha, the densest planting on the estate, hence Tout Pres translating to 'very cosy', 100% whole bunches open-fermented, matured in new French (Allier) oak. What a difference a year makes, especially when one vintage ('15) is brilliant. This wine has a depth to its silently throbbing power from the moment it enters the mouth to the lingering aftertaste. It would be impossible to buy a Burgundy of this quality for less than $250. Bravo. Drink by 2040.
