2015 Thorn-Clarke Shotfire Barossa Quartage

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot. Midnight black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. Nosing offers up lifted aromas of ripe blackcurrant and a hint of dark plum over liquorice, toasty vanillin cedar, light tobacco and spice. Rich with good body weight and a fleshy feel the palate is filled with opulent ripe blackcurrant, liquorice and dark plum flavours which cast a shadow over a vanillin cedar, tobacco, faint scorched earth and spice back drop. Velvet smooth tannins with a medium to long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, liquorice, dark plums, spicy vanillin cedar, tobacco and light scorched earth.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Everything about the wine defies the normal yawn that greets Barossa Valley Bordeaux blends with its bright mouthfeel and cedary fruit flavours. Drink by 2029.
