$419.88 Dozen
Cellar: 6 - 8 Years (2024-2026)
ABV: 14.5%

With a climate, terroir and vineyard design similar to that of Bordeaux’ Saint Emilion, Terre a Terre winemaker Xavier Bizot rates Cabernet Franc as Wrattonbully’s best variety ahead of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Matured for 22 months in French oak barriques of which 25% are new. Totally opaque black red colour with a vibrant dark red hue. Scented ripe black and red currant aromas flow from the glass over notions of cigar box, dried herbs, earthy tobacco and spice notes. Medium to full in body, rich red and blackcurrant fruits flood the mouth with an underpinning of red liquorice, subtle earthy cigar box characters, dried herbs and spice. Finishes with bright balanced acidity and well integrated fine grained tannins. Long blackcurrant, liquorice, subtle cigar box, earthy dried herb and spice aftertaste. A beautifully balanced, savoury Cabernet Franc.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Wonderful to see more straight bottlings of Cabernet Franc. It’s a grape worthy of extra attention.
Spice and perfume, blackcurrant, briar and mint, a subtle sweet earth and coffee grounds bass note. Medium bodied, red and blackcurrant, bramble and spice, fat and fleshy tannin, pure raspberry acidity, and a minerally earthy finish with the brightness of red fruits shining through. Something a little different, and very very good. Drink 2018-2015+
