2015 Taltarni T Series Shiraz

Aged in French and American oak barrels, 10% of which were new, with the remainder being a range of 1 to 3 year old oak for a period of 12 months. Opaque dark purple black core with a bright dark purple red hue. Very peppery nose of liquorice, dark cherries and dried meats with hints of mint also present. Medium bodied with an attractive vibrancy to it, juicy dark berry flavours of blackberry and spicy black cherries merge into some liquorice and subtle dried meats finishing with a burst of blackpepper. The mid palate is quite fleshy with slightly dryish tannins providing some grip. Medium to long pepper infused aftertaste of ripe blackberries, black cherries, liquorice, dried meats and spice. A very tasty, great value Shiraz that picked up a gold medal at the 2016 Royal Melbourne Wine Show.
