- Cellar Drink Now - 5 years (2019-2024)
- ABV 14.5%
- Closure: Cork
Produced by the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel fame this is a blend of 39% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 16% Counoise and 10% Mourvedre. Deep dark red colour with tinges of black to the edges and a dark red hue. Emanating from the glass is a fragrant bouquet of spicy dark raspberries, dark chocolate and liquorice followed by earth, light vanillin cedar and provincial herb notes. Rich, glossy and supple, the medium weight palate is super smooth and elegant with ripe dark raspberry and dark cherry fruits to the fore. Earthy vanillin cedar, liquorice and spice characters form an orderly line behind. Very polished tannins have a silky feel. Good balanced acidity and length with a long savoury aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
